Sliding Scale Donation Oncology Support

Sliding Scale Donation Based Community Acupuncture

-For those who have received a cancer diagnosis and are without acupuncture insurance coverage-

MBCC now offers sliding scale community acupuncture to help navigate symptoms and side effects from cancer treatment. We are collaborating with Cancer Rehab and Integrative Medicine to offer community acupuncture. This sliding scale format ensures that everyone has access to the healing treatment of acupuncture at any stage of their cancer treatment and independent of cost.

What is community style acupuncture?

Community style acupuncture is a treatment set up where there are 4-6 zero gravity chairs in one larger room.  Patients fill out patient forms and chat briefly with the acupuncturist prior to their appointment.

Patients take a seat and get comfortable to receive acupuncture.  It is helpful to bring your own headphones and music to listen to but there will be some headphones available for use so you can relax with limited noise around you.

North Location Details:

Wednesdays 2:00pm-6:00pm located at Cancer Rehab and Integrative Medicine (4130 Spicewood Springs Rd. Ste 100 Austin, TX 78759)

How does the sliding scale donation payment model work?

At Moving Beyond Cancer Collaborative, we want acupuncture to be accessible to everyone.  The sliding scale donation model allows this to happen.  While the sliding scale is $5.00-$35.00, this is a range. We ask that you pay a rate that is an honest assessment of what is feasible.  All proceeds of the community acupuncture cancer care program will go back to Moving Beyond Cancer Collaborative program.

Will MBCC require masks?

Yes, we ask that masks are worn during the sessions. While recommendations are changing with the general population, we are mindful of our community and wish to do what we can to protect immunocompromised individuals. While we cannot control if masks are worn with other people within the building, members of MBCC and patients of the program will be wearing masks in our treatment room. Air purifiers in the space will also be running.
